High shipping, charge to return, don’t take pay pal, poor cust service
Like many others I have been ordering from SD for many years I wd say DECADES now - clothing, outerwear, bedding, jewelry, gifts and more, and its sad for me but I think its time I said goodbye. truly sad.
They used to be so fantastic. Excellent Quality was almost guaranteed. Customer service was personable. Now all you get is someone working remotely from their living room with a crying baby in the background and they care NOTHING about you or your issues, just want their paycheck.
the shipping costs were always kind of high but you knew you were getting great quality so it was still worth it. i dont recall about the return fees but i know they charge that now and its pretty high and basically, at minimum, you end up PAYING THEM just to try on an item! and as many others have said it takes forever to receive items and forever to get a refund. Also many many times i will receive a garment and it looks nothing like it does in the catalogue or on line.
i ordered an expensive dress for a wedding and the lace and color looked so cheap! i sent it back. Sizing is all over the place as well, to the extreme of being SUPER large or way under sized. Last but not least they dont even take PayPal.
thats prob bc if they did they wd have them to answer to on all the return problems they seem to have. Like i said, I Really hate to leave them but its just not worth all the negative, time-consuming and expensive hassle.
Robert Redford founded this company and i believe its due to his age and that he probably stepped down now, so everything has just gone way down hill. VERY SAD BUT THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES!

Overcharged!
I placed an order for a pair of boots and a blouse. There was a promotion code for 30% off the blouse and with the purchase of both items, I qualified for Free shipping.
I applied both discounts on the order and the screen showed both correctly. Then, mysteriously, when my card was charged, both discounts were missing, and I was charged the full amount for both items plus full charge for shipping!
I contacted customer service who told me that both discounts could not be used together...but I didn't receive EITHER discount, AND when I originally placed the order Both discounts showed up as being applied. Never never never again!

Horrible and Extremely Lengthy Processing Time for Retruns
This business sits on the processing of returns. They give you a return label to use which in and of itself takes 10 days before they receive the item because it goes US PS ground!
Then, even after they have CONFIRMED they received your returned item, which they did for me 12 days ago, they SIT on the processing of the return! It has now been 12 days since they have confirmed to me that they received my package which was sent to them 22 days ago, and the customer service agent tells me that they wont get to it for another week or two weeks! Once their substandard processing team actually credits my credit card, I am sure I will have to wait for the actual credit to appear. Horrible and UNACCEPTABLE process.
Its very interesting to me that they dont have such a long processing time to FULFILL new orders - so that they can justify charging your card initially - but they are in no hurry to process your return and credit you back on returns. And the customer service agent does NOTHING but agree that the processing time is too long but tells you there is nothing that can be done.

I placed the above order for a rug. I indicated I wanted it shipped to my street address; other rugs sent by you have been delivered UPS, NOT USPS Priority mail.
Your email of 4/22, at 7:37 am, to me indicated I would receive the rug via Priority Mail.
Mail is NOT delivered to my street address - but held at the local post office over 10 miles away.
I sent an email back to Sundance on 4/22, at 9:55 am, asking that since the product had not shipped -- to please use UPS which DOES deliver to my street address.
According to the USPS website, I used the tracking # 940551****677860****35 -- and found that the post o9ffice had NOT even received the product yet, to send to me.
Yet your customer service personnel had refused to change the delivery method, from USPS to UPS, even tho you had not even shipped the rug yet. Your customer service people preferred to let the "issue / probleml" ride on through.
I am contacting my Master card tomorrow, 4/24, tellling them to refund me the $1,960.15 -- even tho the charge is still in PENDING status.
If they refuse -- I'll contact Master Card's Federal Regulator over this issue.
And I intend to contact the Federal Trade Commission, over Sundance's refusal to change shipper, even before the product had left your warehouse -- since getting the product TO your customers, at the address they specify, is YOUR (Sundance's) responsibility.
And you, Sundance, flat out refused to correct your error, yet you are willling to charge me $1,960.15 -- in payment, for your errors. Either ship the product to the correct address,using a service that delivers to my street, or give me a full refund, and put out a call back so USPS sends it back to YOU !

Sundance catalog use to have the cutest clothes and rugged boots & bags but the last 6+ years their selections have gone downhill and frumpy in my opinion. I stopped buying from them.

Sundance Catalog has the worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. I placed an order for a $4,000 Jes Maharry bracelet and I canceled the order because I was disgusted by the deplorable, incompetent, rude, and obnoxious so-called customer service agents.
Let them go get $4k from someone else.
I work too hard for my earnings and I WILL NOT BE ABUSED by a bunch of agents who arent trained any better than these folks are.
Given all the recent promos Sundance seems to run constantly, it must be pretty hard up for business. My advice, train your agents better so they dont lose both the company and the artists' business.
These idiotic customer service agents dont seem to get that customer orders are what keeps them employed otherwise Sundance could easily downsize and most likely will if they continue to lose business.

I had a similar experience with them (years ago, as they cancelled me as a customer, when I told their customer service manager that I didn't appreciate being spoken to like an employee; I was a customer)--the invoice I received did not reflect the sale price that (I thought) was charged when my order was processed online. I was told that the price that I was charged when I ordered the item could not be relied on--say what??
As I've said before--they must want one-time customers only. Happy that I don't have to deal with them anymore, especially after reading continuing bad reviews about them--you're not the only one!
